tina fey snl

Fey was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, the daughter of Jeanne, a brokerage employee, and Donald Fey, a university grant-proposal writer.[3] Fey's father has German and Scottish ancestry and her mother is of Greek origin.[4]

Fey exhibited her sense of quirky humor at an early age. Her brother, Peter, remembers a drawing she made when she was about seven. It showed people holding hands, walking down the street with wedges of Swiss cheese. The caption read, "What a friend we have in cheeses!"[4]

Fey was exposed to comedy early, saying:
“ I remember my parents sneaking me in to see Young Frankenstein. We would also watch Saturday Night Live, or Monty Python or old Marx Brothers movies. My dad would let us stay up late to watch The Honeymooners. We were not allowed to watch The Flintstones, though, which my dad hated because it ripped off The Honeymooners.[5] I actually have a very low level of Flintstones knowledge for someone my age.[6] ”

Fey attended Cardington Elementary School and Beverly Hills Middle School.[7] By middle school she knew she was interested in comedy, even doing an independent study project on the subject in eighth grade.[5] She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1988.[8][

valerie bertinelli

Bertinelli was born in Wilmington, Delaware[1] to Italian parents Nancy and Andy Bertinelli (a General Motors executive). Along with her one older and two younger brothers, the family lived in Claymont, Delaware and Clarkston, Michigan before moving to Van Nuys, California where Bertinelli studied acting at the Tami Lynn School of Artists. She attended Granada Hills High School until 1978 but did not graduate. As of January 2008, she is pursuing the last few credits needed for her high school degree.[1] She was raised Catholic.[2]

visa ipo

Q: Is there any news on the initial public offering of Visa?

After months of speculation regarding the timing, Visa's IPO appears to be on track.

In early November, Visa's IPO moved forward when the company filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company is expected to raise $10 billion, which would make it one of the largest IPOs in U.S. history. The IPO's timing is unknown, but I'd expect to see it in early 2008. Check IPOhome.com for more updates.

Demand for shares of Visa is expected to be strong because shares of top rival MasterCard (MA) have performed so well. Shares of MasterCard have soared more than 300% from their first day closing price of $46. That's a great return for an IPO that priced at $39 a share on May 24, 2006.

Just be careful before jumping into Visa stock. Since MasterCard did so well, there's going to be a mania for Visa shares. Make sure Visa's valuation is reasonable compared with MasterCard's before chasing it.

As of mid-November, MasterCard's shares had a price-to-earnings ratio of about 30. You certainly wouldn't want to pay more than that for Visa and you'll want to check what MasterCard's P-E is at the time of the IPO. You can get a stock's P-E by putting the company name or stock ticker symbol in any Get a Quote box at money.usatoday.com.

french vanilla ice cream

Years ago I remember my father making vanilla ice cream for all of us with an ice cream maker that required a lot of crushed ice and salt. Can't remember now if it was hand crank or electric. But man oh man was that ice cream good - so rich and creamy. The ice cream makers have improved a lot in the last thirty years, no more need for crushed ice or salt, just have to remember to put the bowl in the freezer a day ahead of time. We recently bought a new ice cream maker and to break it in we made a batch of French vanilla ice cream - the kind with egg yolks and vanilla been seeds in it. French vanilla is a bit more complicated than regular vanilla or most of the ice cream recipes that come with the machine, as you need to prepare a custard mix by cooking the eggs and cream first. But unlike many homemade ice creams which can be a little on the ice-y side, because of the added richness of the egg yolks, French vanilla stays creamier - at least for the first day or two in the freezer. Actually, I don't think this batch lasted past day two, it was just too good to let languish in the freezer.

2 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups whole milk (separated into 1 cup and 1/2 cup)
2 vanilla beans, halved lengthwise
8 large egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt

rat race rebellion

Since 1999, when we launched the pioneering virtual-careers training company, Staffcentrix, and in our various roles as trainers, authors, newsletter publishers, confidants and “lifestyle advisors,” we've been helping people around the world "rebel" against the oppressive sprawl-and-crawl trends of modern life and take back control of their lives.

Here, we’ll share a wealth (ours and others) of work at home job leads, “insider tips,” expert advice, products, resources, opinions, camaraderie and laughter to help you, too, avoid or free yourself from the “meat grinder” and regain sanity, sensibility and serenity for yourself and those you love.

Our goal is to help people live the lives their hearts aspire to, and to make the world a better place. We don’t talk politics (as we say here, our political party is the Boston Tea Party), and we rarely rant and rave. That said, the Rat Race is a powerful thing, and it takes some Rebellion to deal with it. Here’s to yours!

I try to walk the nights that I am not running and found this Walk Vest on a website. I want to get more out of my walking and when I use weights to enhance my walk it makes me soar from the weight distribution. It looks to be helpful but was wondering if anyone has used it or knows someone who has. Here is the website.

But it turns out that schools of deadly tiger sharks have arrived in the area and Charlie tries to get the warning out before there is a huge feeding frenzy on the beaches of the Florida coast.
